Moderation Matching Service

What is it?

The Moderation Matching Service will help to:

  • Identify moderation groups that have already formed but would welcome additional members from other schools
  • Identify where schools or individual subject leaders are feeling isolated and would welcome joining an existing group or creation of a new group

Existing subject networks and MATs who are already considering moderation groups may wish to offer the opportunity for other schools and colleges to join their circle.

How will it work?

Subject leaders will submit their details by filling out the form below. After the deadline, the team at SDSA will analyse all the responses by identifying those that are offering a group and those that wish to join a group. Where possible, respondents will be matched with existing groups and put in touch with the group lead (up to the max. membership number indicated on the survey). Where there are no existing groups, participants will be matched with each other and introduced via a group email. Where this is the case, a follow-up email will be sent to help ensure that that group is working together to moderate.

Please note:

  • training and briefings of moderation groups will not be provided – this will need to be identified using exam board materials, local and JCQ guidance.
  • Facilitation of the meeting will need to be taken forward by volunteer teachers.

A follow-up survey will be sent to all respondents at the end of May to understand the impact of the matching exercise.
